Night Falcons

F-16 fighters, assigned to the 79th Fighter Squadron at Shaw AFB, South Carolina, stand ready for operations in this night shot taken 1 July 2011. The squadron, which can trace its lineage back to World War I, flew P-38s from RAF Kings Cliffe, England, late in World War II and F-111s at RAF Upper Heyford, England from 1970 until 1993. The squadron has flown the F-16 from Shaw since 1994.
