Pratt & Whitney completed a thirty-month transfer of F-22 Airframe Mounted Nozzle Sidewall liner and structural repair operations to the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, on 28 August 2012. Final certification and formal transfer occurred on 9 October. The operation now fills approximately 1,800 square feet of space at the center. The transfer of liner and sidewall repair operations eliminates the need for Pratt & Whitney to send a repaired part from San Antonio, Texas, to Tinker for coating, and then back to San Antonio for completion of the repair. The work transfer, which began in February 2010, is expected to bring an estimated 37,000 hours of repair work annually to technicians at Tinker.
