The third F-35B for the United Kingdom was flown for the first time at NAS JRB Fort Worth, Texas, on 1 April 2013. Lockheed Martin Chief Test Pilot Alan Norman flew the aircraft (UK serial number ZM137) on the initial flight. This aircraft will complete a series of company and government checkout flights prior to its acceptance by the UK Ministry of Defence. ZM137 will be delivered to the F-35 Integrated Training Center at Eglin AFB, Florida, later this year where it will be used for pilot and maintainer training.
