US Air Force officials commemorated the opening of depot maintenance capability for the F-35A Lightning II in ceremonies 20 September 2013 at the Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill AFB, Utah. The first aircraft (Air Force serial number 10-5009) arrived at Hill AFB after a ferry flight from the 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron at Nellis AFB, Nevada, on 13 September. This aircraft will receive a series of structural and systems modifications at Ogden to enhance critical capabilities needed during the Block 2B Operational Testing and Evaluation, or OT&E, program in 2015. In July 2013, the US Marine Corps ceremonially opened its F-35B depot at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina.
