Technicians at the Raptor Avionics Integration Laboratory, or RaIL, at Hill AFB, Utah, completed the conversion from a contractor-run to an Air Force-run operation on 7 November 2013, eight days ahead of schedule. The RaIL has been performing the critical avionics sustainment function for the F-22 Raptor at Hill since 10 April. "The successful transition of the F-22 RaIL system test lab as a public/private partnership with Lockheed Martin is an excellent example of how the Air Force can work with contractors to produce superb results,” said Maj. Gen. Brent Baker Sr., Ogden Air Logistics Complex commander. Ten civil service employees are now part of an intensive two year training program to ensure the long term continuity of this operation.
