Beesley Lands Vertically

F-35 Chief Test Pilot Jon Beesley vertically landed the second F-35B BF-2 on 19 January, marking the first vertical landing achieved by a non-Harrier-trained pilot. The flight, the eighty-fifth for BF-2, involved four sorties with one conventional takeoff, three short takeoffs, four hovers, one vertical landing, and three slow landings.
