Flares Over Iraq

A US Air Force pilot dispensed flares from his F-16 Fighting Falcon while flying over Iraq on 9 November 2011. The aircraft is assigned to the 125th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, which is providing top cover for US forces as personnel and equipment is moved out of Iraq. The 125th EFS consists of F-16s, pilots, maintainers, and support personnel from the 138th Fighter Wing, the Oklahoma Air National Guard unit in Tulsa; the 180th FW, the Ohio ANG unit in Toledo; and the 162nd FW, the Arizona ANG unit in Tucson.
