More than seventy US Airmen from the 13th and 14th Fighter Squadrons and the 35th Maintenance Group at Misawa AB, Japan, participated in Commando Sling, a three-week-long bilateral exercise with Singapore that ran 23 March to 19 April 2012. The exercise took place at Paya Lebar AB in Singapore. The regularly scheduled Commando Sling exercises were created to help build relations with Singapore and train US Air Force pilots in unfamiliar airspace. F-16 pilots from the 13th and 14th Fighter Squadron FS received training on a variety of basic fighter and air combat maneuvers and air combat tactics.
