F-35 Test Program June Update

The F-35 flight test program tallied 1,118 test points during flights in June 2012, the highest number of test points in a single month in program history. June also marked the eighteenth consecutive month the F-35 test program remained ahead of plan. As of 30 June, the F-35 program has flown 595 test flights in 2012 versus a plan of 445, and accrued 4,830 test points against a plan of 3,901. Another June test highlight was a record twelve flights in a single day on 27 June. Cumulative totals for 2012 through 30 June: F-35A, 260 test flights; F-35B, 202 flights, which includes 134 short takeoffs and fifty-five vertical landings; F-35C, 133 sorties.
