A number of F-22 Raptors were flown and approximately 300 Airmen departed JB Langley-Eustis, Virginia, on 15 January 2013 for a four-month Pacific Air Forces Theater Security Package deployment to Kadena AB, Japan. The Airmen are from the active duty 1st Fighter Wing and the Air National Guard 192nd FW. PACAF Theater Security Package deployments to the Asia-Pacific region signify a continued US commitment to regional stability and security, while allowing units to train in theater. F-22s are routinely deployed to the area in support of US Pacific Command's security obligations in the western Pacific. The deployed unit will train under the direction of the 18th Wing officials at Kadena.
