Razor Talon, a regularly scheduled joint air-sea battle exercise, took place from several east coast US military bases on 7 February 2013. The large force exercise takes place off the Atlantic coast and is designed to test operational concepts such as Air-Sea Battle and Maritime Air Support. In this exercise, the largest to date with more than seventy-five aircraft involved (like this Langley AFB, Virginia-based F-22), units from the US Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, and Royal Air Force participated. The tactical scenario involved friendly forces fighting into contested airspace while trying to destroy air-to-air and surface-to-air threats in a time sensitive environment across the North Carolina coast. Exercise Razor Talon is currently scheduled to take place monthly throughout 2013.
