US Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, received its tenth rewinged P-3 Orion at the Lockheed Martin facility in Greenville, South Carolina, on 23 September 2014. The aircraft, an Airborne Early Warning, or AEW, aircraft called a Dome was redelivered thirty-four days ahead of schedule. A total of fourteen CPB P-3s will go through the Mid-Life Upgrade, or MLU, modifications and phased depot maintenance. This aircraft also received an avionics upgrade that includes flight station panels and controls, a new autopilot system, and an update to the AEW mission system computer. The MLU upgrade extends the structural service life of the P-3. CBP aircraft, used primarily for illegal drug interdiction, are stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas, and at Jacksonville, Florida.
