Gen. Kevin Chilton, the commander of US Strategic Command (left), poses for a post-flight photo with a 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing U-2 instructor pilot and members of the 9th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron after his flight in a U-2 Dragon Lady dual-seat trainer at Beale AFB, California. Chilton was a guest speaker at a reunion at Beale of U-2 pilots, maintainers, and support staff. In addition to U-2 operations, Chilton received an overview of RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned, high altitude reconnaissance platform operations. “The U-2 and Global Hawk continue to make significant contributions today in forward operating areas, such as US Central Command, and provide surge capability to support combatant commanders around the world,” noted Chilton.
