100 Million Pounds

The Royal Australian Air Force C-130J Detachment at Al Minhad AB in the United Arab Emirates reached a milestone 100 million pounds of cargo moved during a flight on 21 September 2013. The 37 Squadron crew, deployed from RAAF Richmond, outside Sydney, delivered four pallets of equipment on the landmark flight. Since what the Australians call Operation Slipper began in the Middle East Area of Operations in 2003, RAAF C-130J crews have transported an average of 25,000 pounds of cargo per day and have also flown more than 240,000 personnel.
