Operation Damayan Update

As of the morning of 17 November 2013, US military aircrews have delivered approximately 655,000 pounds of relief supplies provided by the US Agency for International Development since the start of Operation Damayan, the relief effort in support of the government of the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. In addition to the delivery of relief supplies, US military aircrews have to date logged nearly 650 flight hours, moved nearly 1,200 relief workers into Tacloban and have airlifted nearly 4,900 survivors. US Marine Corps KC-130J, US Air Force C-130H and MC-130H/P, and Australian and Indian C-130J aircrews are participating in the relief effort. Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan have also provided aircraft, aircrews, and medical personnel.
