The twenty-first C-5M Super Galaxy to be modified under the Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Program modification line was delivered to the US Air Force on 16 July 2014. A military crew ferried the aircraft (US Air Force serial number 87-0044) from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to Stewart ANGB, New York, where it will undergo internal paint restoration. Once that work is completed, the aircraft will be flown to Travis AFB in northern California near Fairfield. This will be the third C-5M delivered to Travis. Here, Lockheed Martin technicians give a thumb’s up to the crew as they taxi out toward the runway.
