Last Mildenhall Talon II Departs

The last US Air Force MC-130H Combat Talon II Special Operations airlifter in the European Theater was flown from RAF Mildenhall, England, on 8 January 2015, ending its career with the 7th Special Operations Squadron. The departure of this MC-130H (Air Force serial number 88-0195) marks the final step of US Special Operations Command Europe's transition from the Talon II to the CV-22 Osprey. The 7th SOS MC-130H Combat Talon IIs were flown in Special Operations missions including air refueling; precision airdrop; and night, long-range, transportation and resupply of military forces missions. The unit participated in Operations Joint Endeavor and Provide Promise in Bosnia. The Mildenhall Talon IIs are being transferred to the 15th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida.
