A Defense Contract Management Agency aircrew led by Maj. Fred Gallegos ferried the thirtieth C-5M Super Galaxy from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, on 5 August 2015 to Travis AFB, California. It is the twelfth Super Galaxy assigned to the base near Fairfield, located about halfway between Sacramento and San Francisco. The aircraft was delivered more than six weeks ahead of the contract commitment delivery date. This aircraft (US Air Force serial number 86-0026) was originally delivered to the Air Force in June 1988 and had recorded approximately 20,230 flight hours prior to the ferry flight.
