The last EC-130H assigned to the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing departed from an undisclosed base in Southwest Asia on 29 August 2010 and relocated to another base in US Central Command area of operations, capping six-and-a-half years of operation in which Compass Call crews flew 23,000 flight hours on 3,300 combat sorties in direct support of Operation Iraq Freedom. The move was part of the drawdown of forces and completion of combat operations in Iraq on 31 August. The aircraft and approximately thirty personnel are deployed from Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. The EC-130H Compass Call aircraft is a specially configured version of the C-130 that features electronic countermeasures and specialized communications jamming equipment.
