Super Galaxy No. 10

The tenth aircraft that will be modernized to C-5M Super Galaxy standard was inducted into the assembly line at the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, on 29 November 2011. Based at Dover Air Force Base, Del., this C-5B (Air Force serial number 85-0004) was flown in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Since 2005, the aircraft was flown on 125 missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and forty-one missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom. It has delivered cargo to such locations as Iraq, Italy, Germany, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, and Turkey. The transport has accumulated nearly 18,000 flight hours and made more than 4,000 full-stop landings. It is scheduled for redelivery as a Super Galaxy in late 2012.
