Crews in a dozen C-130Js assigned to the 317th Airlift Group at Dyess AFB, Texas, taxi down the runway during an Operational Readiness Exercise on 18 January 2013. The purpose of the ORE was to validate the combat readiness of 317th AG units and their ability to execute assigned missions and tasks against a defined standard. After takeoff, six of these C-130J crews continued on to Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, to participate in a Joint Readiness Training Center exercise. The Dyess C-130Js are flown by crews from the 39th and 40th Airlift Squadrons.
