Rising floodwaters in the Australian state of Queensland forced local health services officials in the city of Bundaberg to evacuate 131 patients from a local hospital to Brisbane on 29 January 2013. Two Royal Australian Air Force C-130J crews from 37 Squadron at RAAF Richmond, near Sydney, along with aeromedical evacuation personnel from RAAF Richmond and Williamtown, were dispatched to transport the patients. This evacuation was part of a wider Australian Ministry of Defence Ministry effort to support local emergency services across Queensland in the aftermath of the flood.
