Opposite Directions

US Air Force crews recently ferried two MC-130J Commando II Special Operations tankers from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia. The first aircraft (US Air Force serial number 13-5777) was flown out on 24 October 2015 and will be assigned to the 17th Special Operations Squadron at Kadena AB, Japan. The second aircraft (serial number 13-5778) was ferried on 25 October and will be assigned to the 67th SOS at RAF Mildenhall, England. The Commando II is used to support inflight refueling, infiltration/exfiltration, and aerial delivery and resupply of Special Operations forces.
