Lockheed Martin closed its acquisition of helicopter manufacturer Sikorsky Aircraft on 6 November 2015. Aligned under the Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training business segment, Sikorsky Aircraft is now known as Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company. The Sikorsky headquarters will remain in Stratford, Connecticut. The line of business employs nearly 15,000 employees in eleven countries. Its helicopters are used by all five branches of the US armed forces, along with military services and commercial operators in forty nations.
