A US Navy P-3C Orion assigned to Patrol Squadron 1 (VP-1) at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington, sits on the tarmac after the maritime patrol aircraft’s crew arrived at Misawa AB, Japan, on 26 November 2011 to start a six month deployment in the Pacific. Known as the Screamin’ Eagles, VP-1 is the first Orion squadron to deploy to the base in northern Japan since 2007.
