A retired C-130 affectionately known as "Frankenherk", a long-time fixture at the 934th Airlift Wing, the Air Force Reserve Command unit at Minneapolis-St. Paul ARS, Minnesota, will live on as part of another Hercules. The retired aircraft was a conglomeration of different C-130s and was used for training at the 934th AW before it was dismantled, demilitarized, and mostly sold for scrap last fall. On 19 March 2014, the wings were crated and loaded up for transport to Robins AFB, Georgia, where they will be refurbished and put on a US Coast Guard HC-130H. This aircraft will get a new center wing along with the refurbished outer wings and then modified for firefighting duties with the US Forest Service.
