US aircrews from the 39th Airlift Squadron, one of two C-130J flying units at Dyess AFB, Texas, flew thirty-six sorties during a Joint Readiness Training Center Green Flag exercise over the ranges near Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, from 13-22 May 2013. The exercise assessed and certified the combat readiness of Air Force strategic airlift, contingency, and support forces in a simulated expeditionary environment with twenty-four hour per day operations. While at Little Rock, the Dyess aircrews carried out paratroop drops and heavy equipment and Container Delivery System airdrops to support Army ground units during the exercise.
