Runway Rehab

A C-130 Hercules crew carries out the first landing on the rebuilt Zulu runway of Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, on 10 August 2013. The Zulu runway was originally built by the Soviet Union in 1959 has been under repairs and the construction for months. The Zulu runway is now serving as a temporary runway while the primary runway is repaired. In the near future the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing will begin reconstruction project on the Department of Defense’s busiest runway.
