Super Galaxy No. 12

The twelfth production C-5M Super Galaxy was redelivered to the US Air Force on 19 September 2013 from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia. Maj. Gen. Wayne Schatz Jr., Director of Strategic Plans, Requirements, and Programs at Air Mobility Command headquarters, flew the aircraft (Air Force serial number 85-0003) to Stewart ANGB, New York, where it will undergo internal paint restoration before returning to its permanent home at Dover AFB, Delaware. This aircraft has recorded more than 19,000 flight hours, and has been flown on missions to countries around the world. A total of 52 Super Galaxy aircraft are scheduled to go through the Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Program, or RERP, modification line in Marietta by 2017.
