US Air Force Lt. Gen. Brooks L. Bash, the vice commander of Air Mobility Command, flew the eighteenth C-5M from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to Dover AFB, Delaware, on 2 April 2014. This delivery of this Super Galaxy (Air Force serial number 87-0040) marks the completion of the fleet at the first C-5M base. A combined aircrew from the active duty 9th and Air Force Reserve Command 709th Airlift Squadrons at Dover were part of the delivery crew for the aircraft. After landing, Bash handed the aircraft's ceremonial key to SrA Airman Bradley Harris, 436th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron dedicated crew chief for the aircraft. The first C-5M was delivered to Dover AFB in February 2009.
