First Super Galaxy For Travis

A US Air Force crew ferried the first C-5M Super Galaxy assigned to Travis AFB, California, on 8 May 2014. The new Super Galaxy (US Air Force serial number 87-0042) was flown to the base near Fairfield from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, by Lt. General Brooks L. Bash, vice commander of Air Mobility Command. The C-5Ms will be flown by active duty crews from the 60th Air Mobility Wing, as well as crews from the 349th AMW, the Air Force Reserve Command Associate unit at Travis. This is the nineteenth C-5M delivered to the Air Force.
