Pakistan Relief Effort Continues
US Airmen with the 621st Contingency Response Element from JB McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey continue to work with the Pakistan government and military at Chaklala AB to support the nationwide distribution of international aid to flood-affected Pakistanis. More than thirty 621st CRE personnel have been working around the clock to assist Pakistan's National Disaster Management Agency and the Pakistan Air Force with managing the distribution of incoming international relief supplies throughout Pakistan since they arrived on 28 August 2010. As of 22 September, US military personnel and aircraft, working in partnership with the Pakistan military, have delivered more than 8.3 million pounds of relief supplies and have rescued more than 16,000 people throughout the flood-stricken areas of Pakistan.
