Nineteen US Airmen and three C-130J Super Hercules assigned to the 37th Airlift Squadron at Ramstein AB, Germany, traveled to the Netherlands from 16-19 September 2010 to mark the anniversary of Operation Market Garden, the 1944 airborne assault that was the largest in history. More than 1,000 Dutch, German, British, Polish, and American forces took part in the reenactment. On one mission during the event, one of the US C-130Js was flown in conjunction with a British C-130, a Dutch DC-3, and a German C-160, and dropped 700 paratroopers from five different nations. The 37th AS, then designated the 37th Troop Carrier Squadron, flew C-47 Skytrain transports during Operation Market Garden.
