Rescue personnel from Moody AFB, Georgia, spent a week at Palanquero AB, Columbia, in mid September for a weeklong subject matter expert exchange with Colombian Air Force C-130 crews. Under US Southern Command's Traditional Commander's Activity Program, four Moody Airmen worked alongside their Columbian rescue counterparts observing and advising the Colombians on their day-to-day rescue operations, including personnel air drops, cargo drops, and infiltration and exfiltration of military and civilian personnel. The knowledge exchanged will give Colombian aircrews valuable skills needed to enable them to save more lives when performing personnel recovery missions in the rough terrain of South America.
