First C-130J For Qatar

The first of four C-130J Super Hercules for the Qatar Emiri Air Force was rolled out of the paint hangar at the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, on 28 April 2011. The Qatari aircraft are the longer fuselage variant of the C-130J. The aircraft will be used for humanitarian relief and military missions for the defense of the State of Qatar. In addition to the aircraft, Qatar Emiri Air Force will receive aircrew and maintenance technician training, spares, ground support and test equipment, servicing carts, cargo pallets, and a team of technical specialists who will be based in-country during an initial support period. Deliveries will begin later this year.
