At The Show

More than 100 aircrew members and personnel from bases in the US and Europe supported the US military and Department of Homeland Security presence at the 49th Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport outside Paris the week of 20-26 June 2011. Among the ten US government aircraft on static display were an F-16 Fighting Falcon from Spangdahlem AB, Germany and a C-130J Super Hercules from Ramstein AB, Germany. Additionally, the Air Force's C-5M Super Galaxy made its first appearance at the biennial show. The C-5M crew, based at Dover AFB, Delaware, airlifted another first-timer to the show, an Army CH-47F Chinook heavy-lift helicopter.
