More than eighty-five US Airmen from the 86th Airlift Wing, the 435th Contingency Response Group, and five US Soldiers from the 5th Quartermaster Company at Ramstein AB, Germany, participated in El Toro Rojo Dos, a two-week off-station training exercise with Spanish air and ground forces at Zaragoza, Spain, 11-22 December 2011. This marked the first time in two years personnel from the two bases have participated in joint training. Two C-130J crews from 37th Airlift Squadron at Ramstein, along with two Spanish Air Force C-130H crews from 301 Squadron at Zaragoza (shown here) dropped nearly 600 members of the Spanish army in separate missions on 13 and 15 December.
