Senior Scout Module Delivered

The first airborne signals intelligence system module configured specifically for the C-130J Super Hercules was delivered to the US Air Force on 7 December 2011 at the Lockheed Martin facility in Denver, Colorado. The module is part of the Senior Scout intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance system, which is rolled on and off to rapidly configure standard C-130 aircraft for communications intelligence-gathering missions. In addition to undergoing system upgrades, the latest Senior Scout module was enhanced to be structurally compatible with the C-130J and features updated system interfaces and improved maintenance access. The first Senior Scout system was fielded and was used in Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
