A C-5B Galaxy aircrew from the 439th Airlift Wing, the Air Force Reserve Command unit at Westover ARB, Massachusetts, performed a flyby prior to the AFC Championship football game between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, on 22 January 2012. Known as the Patriot Wing, the National Football League team’s Minuteman logo has been on the tailflash of the 439th AW’s C-5s for many years. To further support the home team for the championship game, squadron maintainers also added a larger team logo and GO PATS in chalk under the aircraft’s fuselage for the flyby. The Patriots beat the Ravens, 23-20, to advance to Super Bowl LXVI.
