The sixteenth C-130J was delivered to the 317th Airlift Group at Dyess AFB, Texas, on 6 March 2012. The aircraft was flown from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to the base in Abilene by Maj. Gen. Wayne Schatz, the director of Strategic Plans, Requirements, and Programs at Air Mobility Command headquarters at Scott AFB, Ill. The aircraft (Air Force serial number 08-5686) will be flown by crews from the 39th Airlift Squadron. Another dozen C-130Js will be delivered to Dyess by 2013.
