Seventy US Air Force Airmen and a US Marine Corps KC-130J crew participated in Exercise Kiwi Flag, a multilateral, tactical air mobility exercise being held at RNZAF Whenuapai, near Auckland, New Zealand. Kiwi Flag is designed to improve the interoperability of the participating air arms, which also included the Royal Australian Air Force, the New Caledonia French Defence Force, the Republic of Singapore Air Force, and the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Aircrews conducted combined flight operations to include aircraft mission generation and recovery, low-level navigation, and airdrops. The two-week exercise, which ran from 27 March through 4 April 2012, included an airshow commemorating the RNZAF’s seventy-fifth anniversary. A RNZAF C-130Hs was painted in a commemorative paint scheme for the anniversary.
