A C-130H crew from the 302nd Airlift Wing, the Air Force Reserve Command unit at Peterson AFB, Colorado, releases water during a Modular Airborne Firefighting System 2, or MAFFS 2, capabilities demonstration at the base near Colorado Springs on 23 April 2012. The demonstration was part of an annual US Forest Service-led training certification exercise for MAFFS crews. The 302nd AW is the only Air Force Reserve Command unit with MAFFS capabilities. Air National Guard C-130H/J units in North Carolina, Wyoming, and California also are equipped with the Forest Service-owned MAFFS II equipment.
