Warner Robins Air Logistics Center technicians completed the last programmed depot maintenance, or PDM, overhaul for the MC-130E Combat Talon I special operations airlifter fleet on 6 April 2012. At one time, MC-130E fleet consisted of fourteen aircraft, with all having been maintained at the depot in middle Georgia on multiple occasions since April 1998. This last aircraft to go through PDM, Air Force serial number 62-1843, is the oldest in the fleet, and had been at the depot since September 2011. First flown in 1966, the Combat Talon I was originally conceived and developed in response to emerging threats in Southeast Asia. The Combat Talon I is now in the process of being retired from service.
