Super Galaxy No. 15

The fifteenth US Air Force C-5 Galaxy was inducted into the C-5M Super Galaxy modification line at the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, on 18 October 2012. This C-5B (Air Force serial number 87-0040) has been assigned to Travis AFB, California, since 1994, but will be redelivered to Dover AFB, Delaware, in 2013 after the upgrade is complete. Throughout its career, this aircraft has been used to deliver cargo in locations such as Afghanistan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Qatar, Spain, Thailand, and Turkey. This Galaxy has accumulated more than 22,000 flight hours and crews have made nearly 5,000 full-stop landings.
