Combat King II To Arizona

A new HC-130J Combat King II personnel recovery aircraft for the 79th Rescue Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, (US Air Force serial number 09-5707) was flown from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to the base outside Tucson on 15 November 2012. This HC-130J is one of fifteen aircraft currently scheduled for delivery to Air Combat Command and Air Education and Training Command units. While the 79th RQS is physically located at Davis-Monthan, the squadron is operationally assigned to the 563rd Rescue Group at Moody AFB, Georgia. Kevin W. Buckley, the Program Executive Officer for Air Force Mobility Programs at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, was on board the delivery flight.
