Combat King II Delivered

The latest HC-130J Combat King II personnel recovery aircraft for the 79th Rescue Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, (US Air Force serial number 08-5697) was flown from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to the base outside Tucson on 5 December 2012. This HC-130J is the sixth of fifteen aircraft currently scheduled for delivery to Air Combat Command and Air Education and Training Command units. While the 79th RQS is physically located at Davis-Monthan, the squadron is operationally assigned to the 563rd Rescue Group at Moody AFB, Georgia. Maj. Gen. Timothy Zadalis, Director of Intelligence, Operations, and Nuclear Integration at Air Education and Training Command headquarters at Randolph AFB, Texas, flew the aircraft to Davis-Monthan.
